Everything you need to make your case

One-tap incident log

Live sound-level meter, automatic timestamp and a duration timer, with a clear recording indicator.

Councils' own categories

Music and bass, stomping, shouting, dog barking, construction, plus impact tags like could not sleep and child woken.

Quiet-hours flagging

Incidents during your quiet hours (default 22:00 to 07:00) are marked as night-time disturbances.

Calendar heatmap

See every incident on a calendar, plus a weekday-by-hour heatmap and a per-week trend.

PDF evidence report

Incident table with sound levels and durations, summary stats, charts and an integrity page with a fingerprint per entry.

Complaint letters

Prefilled letters for your landlord, council or building manager, tailored to your country.

How it works

  1. Log the incident. When the noise starts, tap Log incident now to capture the time, level and duration.
  2. Tag the impact. Pick the category and how it affected you, add notes and where it came from.
  3. See the pattern. The calendar and analytics show how often and when it happens.
  4. Export evidence. Generate a PDF report, a complaint letter or a CSV, and send it to whoever can help.

Record noise, not conversations

Your written log and sound-level readings are legal to keep everywhere. Audio clips are optional and are for noise only. In some places, such as Germany (StGB section 201), recording private speech is illegal. Recording only ever runs in the foreground with a visible indicator. There is no background or hidden recording, and everything stays on your device.

Questions

Do I need a council or subscription service?

No. Many noise apps only work in the areas that pay for them. Noise Log is yours: keep your own record and decide who to send it to.

Is it legal to log my neighbor's noise?

Keeping a written diary and measuring sound levels is legal everywhere. Audio recording of noise is generally fine, but recording private conversations is restricted in some countries. Noise Log leads with the log and levels and keeps audio optional.

Where is my data stored?

Everything stays on your device. There is no account, no backend and no analytics.

Is the sound level an official measurement?

No. A phone microphone is not a calibrated sound-level meter, so the figure is an estimate that supports your written log rather than replacing a professional measurement.
