These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ID Scanner: Age Verify Check mobile application (the "App") operated by App Harbour ApS. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to Apple's standard End User License Agreement (EULA).
What the App does (and does not do)
The App decodes the data contained in the PDF417 barcode on US and Canadian driver's licenses and identification cards, calculates the holder's age from that data, and displays the result. The optional front cross-check compares text printed on the document with the barcode data.
The App does not and cannot verify that a document is genuine. A counterfeit document can contain a validly formatted barcode. The App is a screening aid, not an authentication service, and its output is not a guarantee of age, identity, or document validity. You remain solely responsible for admission, sale, and service decisions, and for performing whatever additional checks your situation or local law requires.
Your legal responsibilities
Laws on scanning identification documents and on retaining scanned data vary by state, province, and country, and some jurisdictions restrict or prohibit one or both. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the App, including enabling the optional scan log and exporting data from it, complies with the laws that apply to you. The scan log is off by default.
Free allowance and Premium
The App includes 10 free scans. Continued scanning and certain features (front cross-check and CSV export) require a Premium subscription:
- Weekly Premium: 1-week auto-renewing subscription with a 3-day free trial.
- Annual Premium: 1-year auto-renewing subscription.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free trial.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel any time in your Apple ID settings, or see Apple's guide.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when purchasing a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policies.
- Use "Restore Purchases" in the app's settings to retrieve your subscription on another device.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the App for any illegal purpose, including unlawful collection or retention of personal data; not to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App; and not to use the App in a way that could damage or impair it.
Intellectual property
All content, features, and functionality of the App are owned by App Harbour ApS and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Disclaimer of warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that results obtained from the App (including any verdict or cross-check) will be accurate or reliable.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, APP HARBOUR APS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, INCLUDING DECISIONS MADE IN RELIANCE ON ITS OUTPUT.
Changes
We may modify the App or these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date; continued use constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
