1. Agreement
These Terms of Use govern your use of Deposit Shield, an iOS app published by App Harbour ApS ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Apple standard licence (EULA)
Deposit Shield is licensed, not sold, to you. Your licence is subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA), which you can read here: Apple Standard End User License Agreement. Where these Terms and the Apple standard EULA conflict on licensing matters, the Apple standard EULA applies.
3. What the app does
Deposit Shield helps tenants document the condition of a rental property with guided photo evidence, condition ratings, timestamps, GPS stamps and tamper-evident SHA-256 hashes, and helps you prepare reports and dispute materials. The app is a documentation and organisation tool. It does not provide legal advice, and using it does not guarantee any particular outcome in a deposit dispute. Deadlines, letters and jurisdiction information are provided for convenience and may change. You are responsible for confirming the rules that apply to your tenancy.
4. Free tier and Premium
Deposit Shield is free to download and includes a free tier: one property, the guided move-in inspection, unlimited photos with timestamps, GPS and hashes, a watermarked PDF preview, and a move-in deadline reminder. Premium unlocks unlimited properties, the clean PDF report with signature line and hash integrity page, the move-out pairing camera, the dispute letter kit, deadline reminders, video walkthrough and iCloud backup.
5. Purchases and subscriptions
Premium is available through the following in-app purchases, sold via the Apple App Store. Prices are shown in US dollars and may vary by territory and over time. The prices below reflect the current standard pricing.
- Lifetime unlock: a one-time purchase of $16.99. This is a non-consumable purchase. Once bought, it does not renew and does not expire. You can restore it on your other devices signed in with the same Apple ID.
- Annual subscription: $19.99 per year, an auto-renewing subscription.
- Weekly subscription: $3.99 per week, an auto-renewing subscription that begins with a 3-day free trial.
Free trial: the weekly subscription includes a 3-day free trial. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts to a paid weekly subscription at $3.99 per week. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
6. Auto-renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Each subscription renews for the same period at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
7. Managing and cancelling
You can manage or cancel a subscription, or turn off auto-renewal, in your Apple account settings at any time: Manage your subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current period. The one-time lifetime unlock is not a subscription and has nothing to cancel.
8. Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. We do not process payments directly and cannot issue refunds ourselves. Refund requests can be made through Apple.
9. Restoring purchases
If your Premium access does not appear after reinstalling or switching devices, use the Restore Purchases option in the app while signed in with the Apple ID used to buy. Restoring reactivates your entitlement at no extra charge.
10. Your content and privacy
Your inspections, photos, notes and location stamps stay on your device and, if you enable it, in your own iCloud. We collect no data. See our Privacy Policy for full details. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of important evidence.
11. Acceptable use
You agree to use Deposit Shield lawfully and only to document properties and situations you are entitled to document. You must not use the app to harass others or to create misleading records. The tamper-evident features are designed to preserve authentic evidence, and you agree not to attempt to defeat or misuse them.
12. Disclaimers
Deposit Shield is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, that reminders or deadline information will be accurate for your jurisdiction, or that using the app will resolve a dispute in your favour.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, App Harbour ApS is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or lost deposit amounts, arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always posted here with a revised date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
