How to set your ringtone

iPhone doesn't let apps set the ringtone directly, so you finish in GarageBand (free). It takes about a minute.

  1. In Ringtone Maker, after exporting, tap Save or Share and choose Save to Files.
  2. Open GarageBand, start a new project, open the Loop browser, and import your file from Files.
  3. Tap My Songs to save, then touch and hold the project and choose Share, then Ringtone.
  4. Name it, tap Export, then choose Use sound as, Standard Ringtone.

Prefer a computer? You can also AirDrop or sync the .m4r file and add it in Finder.

Troubleshooting

A song won't import

Songs protected by Apple Music cannot be exported. Try a song you own, an audio file from Files, or the audio from a video.

The export is silent

Make sure the selected part of the track actually contains sound, and that any fade is shorter than the clip.

Restore a purchase

Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases.

Subscriptions

Premium is available as a weekly subscription ($3.99/week with a 3-day free trial) or an annual subscription ($19.99/year). Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID subscription settings.
