These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the CoinScout: Coin Identifier mobile application ("App") operated by App Harbour ApS ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
License and Apple standard EULA
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. Your use of the App is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where these Terms and the Apple standard EULA differ, the more protective terms for the user apply to that subject.
Estimates only, not an appraisal
CoinScout provides estimated information to help you research a coin. The identifications, confidence percentages, collector value ranges, and melt values are estimates only. They are not a professional appraisal, not a guarantee of authenticity, and not an offer to buy or sell any coin.
A coin's real value depends on its grade and authentication, which require physical inspection. Always confirm rare coins, error coins, and die varieties with a professional grading service such as PCGS or NGC before buying, selling, or insuring. We are not liable for decisions you make based on the App's estimates.
Free scans and subscriptions
CoinScout is free for your first four scans. Continued unlimited scanning requires an auto-renewable subscription:
- Weekly: $4.99 per week.
- Annual: $29.99 per year.
There is no free trial and there is no lifetime purchase. Subscription terms:
- Automatic renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Payment: payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Cancellation: you can cancel anytime in your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You can manage your subscriptions here.
- Refunds: refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store policies. Submit refund requests through Apple.
- Restore: you can restore an active subscription on another device with Restore Purchases.
Fair use of unlimited scanning
"Unlimited" scanning is intended for normal personal collector use. To keep the service reliable and affordable for everyone, a generous daily scan limit applies. This ceiling is set well above any normal collector's daily use and exists only to prevent abusive or automated high-volume activity. We may pause or limit access that appears automated, abusive, or intended to overload or resell the service.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
- Remove or obscure any proprietary notices.
- Use automated means to access the service at abusive volume.
- Interfere with or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems.
Intellectual property
All content, features, and functionality of the App are owned by App Harbour ApS and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Disclaimer of warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that identifications or values will be accurate or that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, APP HARBOUR APS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, OR DATA, ARISING FROM your use of or inability to use the App, or from reliance on any estimate the App provides.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted here and within the App with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
