Rent Manager - RentRegister ("the App", formerly published as Small Landlord Manager) is published and operated by AppHarbour ApS ("we", "us", "our").
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
1. Data Storage and Processing
The App is a local-first application.
All property, unit, tenant, rent, reminder, and attachment data entered into the App is stored locally on your device. We do not maintain user accounts and we do not keep a database of your landlord or tenant data on our own systems.
If you delete the App, all locally stored data is deleted from your device. If you use the optional Rent Collection feature, data you have submitted to Stripe (described in Section 3) remains in your own Stripe account.
2. Personal Data
We do not collect personal data from you for our own purposes.
Any personal data you enter into the App (such as tenant names, contact details, lease dates, or documents) is entered voluntarily by you and remains on your device, except where you actively use the Rent Collection feature described below.
3. Rent Collection via Stripe (Optional)
The App offers an optional Rent Collection feature that lets you collect rent through your own Stripe account. Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe") is an independent payment processor. If you do not set up Rent Collection, nothing in this section applies.
When you set up Rent Collection:
- A Stripe account is created for you (or connected, if you complete Stripe's onboarding with an existing identity). The country you select and, where you provide it, your email address are sent to Stripe to create this account. Stripe collects any identity and banking information it requires directly from you through its own hosted onboarding; we never see or store that information.
- When you request rent, set up autopay, or enable email invoicing for a tenant, the information needed to create the payment (tenant name, tenant email address where you provide it, rent amount, currency, and due dates) is transmitted through our payment relay service to Stripe and stored in your Stripe account, not on our systems.
- Our payment relay service is stateless: it holds no database and retains none of the data that passes through it. Your device holds the credential that identifies your Stripe account; payment status shown in the App is read live from Stripe.
- Rent payments are made by your tenants directly to your Stripe account. We never hold, receive, or transfer any funds, and we charge no fees on payments. Stripe's own processing fees apply and are charged by Stripe to you.
Stripe processes personal data under its own privacy policy, available at https://stripe.com/privacy. As the landlord, you are responsible for having a lawful basis for providing your tenants' contact details to Stripe for rent collection.
4. Payments and Subscriptions (App Store)
If you choose to purchase a subscription to the App itself, payments are processed securely by Apple via the App Store using StoreKit.
We do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple may provide us with limited, anonymous transaction information for subscription validation and entitlement purposes.
5. Analytics
At this time, the App does not use third-party analytics or tracking services.
If analytics are added in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. Data transmitted to Stripe when you use the Rent Collection feature is sent at your direction, on your behalf, and into your own Stripe account.
7. Data Security
Because your records are stored locally on your device, you are responsible for protecting access to your device. We recommend using device-level security such as Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode. Communication with our payment relay service and with Stripe is encrypted in transit using HTTPS.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
